Te Wai Pounamu is the Maori name for the South Island.
I trust the Maori world view explicitly and feel blessed that my ancestors were welcomed to this country by the tangata whenua, the people of this land.
I look forward to the time when Maori are given the true power they deserve as kaitiaki or guardians of Aotearoa/NewZealand.
